Options for Vantage Students

UIW’s Extended Academic Programs is a good fit for students who are displaced from Vantage College. We offer a variety of similar programs including certifications, undergraduate certificates, an AS in Health Sciences, and several business programs that can meet your needs for a smooth transition. We also have a variety of undergraduate degree programs that can help you make a seamless transition.

Important: Personal Development certifications and certificates of completion DO NOT require an application and/or admittance to the University of the Incarnate Word. Those interested in enrolling in one of the programs below will need to follow the registration instructions on the individual program web page. The Apply Now and Request Info buttons located at the top header are specifically for degree-seeking students. Financial Aid, active-duty and VA benefits do not apply to personal development program offerings.

Certificate of Completion in Information Systems (C-IN)
Cardiac Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT)
Certified Billing & Coding Specialist (CBCS)
Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRS)
Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA)

In order to qualify for undergraduate certificates, a student must apply and be accepted to UIW's academic program. If a certificate is not part of a bachelor's program, then financial aid is not available. The certificate is issued by the school in which it is earned. Transcripts reflect courses taken and are transferable academic credit.

Completed undergraduate certificates will flow seamlessly into our Associate and Bachelor degree programs. See a full list of degree programs and benefits available through the Extended Academic Programs.

ASL Scholarship

Apply for the 2018-19 ASL Scholarship. Twelve $3,500 scholarships are awarded to adult students from ASL Chapter Schools. You do not have to be a member to apply.

Dr. Cyndi Porter, VP of Extended Academic Programs, provides a tutorial for students using online tools including Blackboard and DegreeWorks.
